How to Plan a Christmas Ski Trip |

Christmas Skiing Santa
First, you’ll want to plan as far in advance as possible. This may be short notice for Christmas in 2009, but if you need more time, you can simply put it off a year and plan for a skiing trip in 2010. If you don’t want to put it off, you can still plan a skiing trip, but your capabilities will be somewhat limited. By now, many people have already made holiday plans and you probably won’t be able to get all of your relatives to join you. Don’t let that discourage you if you really have your heart set on a fun skiing trip.
To plan far in advance, make sure to shop around for great deals on airplane tickets and hotels. How do you do this? One simple rule: keep searching for the absolute lowest prices. Don’t simply log on to a site like Priceline.com and expect that they’re quoting you the best price. Instead, keep shopping around, and make it a little game for yourself: can you possibly find tickets that are even cheaper? Can you find hotel rates that look like they’re on a discount? Sure, it’s the skiing season, but that doesn’t mean you can’t save money by being a little diligent.
Next, make sure that everyone else is ready for the ski trip. It might help to go on a practice ski run before your vacation; take a ski lesson so that by the time the vacation comes, you’ll have some level of competence. If you’re already an expert skier, this may not be totally necessary, but remember that you’re not the only skier around, either. You want everyone in your party to enjoy the trip.
If everything goes right, you’ll be able to have a Christmas ski trip in which you enjoy a great ski lodge, fun times on the slopes, and, of course, the comfort of family and friends. Just make sure you stick to the normal travel rules, like searching for good prices and focusing on safety, and you should be fine.
